Sounxk — a living archive
A personal website that can grow alongside the work: part portfolio, part notebook, part record of the things that catch my attention. Built with a focus on editorial calm, performance, and craftsmanship.
PERSONAL ARCHIVE/VOL. 001
A home for the things I make, the ideas I collect, and the skills I am learning—across software, image, sound, and everything in between.
Ethereum, EVM internals, systems programming, zero-knowledge primitives
Sounxk living archive, minimal distributed state experiments, tactile tools
Leica 35mm monochrome, analog tape synthesis, typography, essays
A PRACTICE, NOT A BOX
I am building a body of work across disciplines. Some things will become polished projects; others will stay experiments, notes, or useful detours. This archive has room for both.
A personal website that can grow alongside the work: part portfolio, part notebook, part record of the things that catch my attention. Built with a focus on editorial calm, performance, and craftsmanship.
TypeScript, Solidity, backend engineering, protocol internals, and small product experiments—with an emphasis on understanding the system, not just shipping the interface.
Notes from learning, technical explainers, essays, references, and half-formed ideas that become clearer when they are written down.
Photography, moving image, music, visual design, and other creative practices that make me look, listen, and experiment differently.
A map of the territories I am actively building in — from infrastructure to image. The work crosses borders by design.
THE DIGITAL GARDEN
A public notebook for questions, working principles, discoveries, and ideas that become clearer when I give them words.
Search or filter by category below. Open a note to read the full reflection.
I want to get better at letting the awkward first attempts exist. The first photograph, the first paragraph, the first implementation: they are evidence of contact with the thing, not evidence that I should stop. A useful practice is small enough to repeat and honest enough to show me what I do not yet understand.
Software teaches me to make systems explicit. Photography teaches me to notice what is already there. Music teaches timing; writing helps me discover what I think. These interests do not need to become one personal brand story. They can simply make me more observant, more capable, and more alive to the world around me.
After learning something new, make a smaller version without following the original steps. Write down what is confusing, look it up, then try again. The point is not to avoid tools or documentation. It is to make sure they support your understanding rather than quietly replace it.
Not every experiment needs to become content. Some things can be made privately until they are ready; others can be shared because the act of explaining them helps. The measure is whether publishing serves the work, the reader, or the connection between us—not whether the process looks impressive from the outside.
We spent a decade flattening interfaces into interchangeable utility. But the web can feel like good stationery—warm paper, considered margins, ink that settles into the fibers. Taste is not ornament; it is the discipline of making something feel human and durable in an era of relentless algorithmic sameness.
Complexity in tooling often disguises procrastination. When beginning a new exploration—whether an EVM contract, a Next.js experiment, or an ambient chord progression—start with the simplest primitive that works. You can always add scaffolding later, but momentum lost to configuration rarely returns.
IMAGE / SOUND / FORM
Creative work is a way of learning to notice: how light falls, how a rhythm moves, how a composition holds together, what a colour changes.
Ambient generative tone synthesized in real-time via Web Audio API.
Portraits, places, small stories, light studies, and the craft of shaping a frame.
DJ sets, production experiments, tape delay, guitar, and the pleasure of learning by listening.
Graphic design, 3D studies, typography, colour systems, and ideas that cross mediums.

INSPECT ↗Wet cobblestones reflecting amber lantern glow at dusk. The city settling between day and night.

04 / A WORKING PRINCIPLE
Make the thing.
Then make it better.
HELLO, I'M SOUNAK
I’m Sounak—a software engineer, learner, and creative generalist. I’m drawn to how things work: from software and systems to photographs, music, design, and the ideas that connect them.
Sounxk is my corner of the internet for keeping a record of that process. It is not an attempt to look finished; it is a way to make the learning, the experiments, and the work easier to find—and to return to.
The goal is to make useful things, develop taste, keep asking better questions, and build a life with more than one source of meaning.
Open to conversations about software systems, creative projects, or interesting questions.
